Dev Log Day 4


Didn't make a day 3 devlog since day 2 and day 3 were the same day as I worked 40hours straight. I am enjoying this and seeing how the renders and animations are improving. In the day 2 dev log I mentioned that 0.3 was going to be a bit tougher than 0.2 since I would have to teach myself how to timeline animate and make animations from scratch. I was able to semi learn it. I am no pro at it obviously, all I can say for sure is that each one is a little better than the last. a bit of sketchy skipping here and there but I think that is something that will get better with time. As I only have the first 5 chapters already scripted my current game plan is to bulldoze through them getting better along the way. Then once the first 5 are done I figure I will take a week or two and go back and fix the older animations while the community votes on where they want the story to go next. So on to the main point of a dev log. 

I finished the dream sequence today which is where all of the animations that I completed today were for. I finished the car ride to the beach, and I just started on the beach double date weekend trip, right where I left off Misaki may be getting a bit jealous, and Ryou's eyes seem to be wondering. Don't want to give to much away before its ready. Chapter 3 is twice as long as chapter 1 so that is another reason why I am not expecting it to be done as fast, well that and I am really starting to stress the quality as I feel like this project boomed in popularity overnight which is pretty cool.

If your curious why I am devoting myself to daily dev logs the answer is simple, I have played literally hundreds of these games and the thing that annoys me more than anything is when you get an update every couple months and its only 20 minutes of content. I decided I could do what they are doing and do it better and faster, so that's my goal. I figure if you work on the project everyday then you should have something to show for it every day.
