DevLog Day 25


Got a bunch of work done on the Chapter 2 remake today. Enough that I should be able to finish it tomorrow, though it will take probably around 12 hours of straight coding to be able to release tomorrow.... Today I finished getting all of the Animations for chapter 2 the total count went from 24 in the old chapter 2, to 100 for the remake. I deleted all the original 24 as they looked terrible. I also got all of the animations compressed, converted, labeled, organized and labeled in the code. I also made all of the screens for the remake, with all the Image Buttons. I still need to assign where the image buttons take you when you click them, which for 100 screens.... will take awhile. But the main thing that is going to slow me down, is the script rewrite, and assigning all the labels, calls, and jumps. I also fixed the chapter 1 remake as I did not notice it when I released it yesterday. There are some issues with the Image buttons on the current release of it. 2 of the buttons caused a crash. Also I was having an issue where it was not taking the player to large sections of the story. So I had to reassign some of the Image button locations and the large sections of the story that the game was ignoring I assigned labels to those and forced certain image buttons to jump to those sections. So that was a decent learning lesson on the coding, so I don't make that mistake again. I have no intention of making an extra release of the remake though, may as well just release the chapter 1 fix when I release the chapter 2 remake, hopefully tomorrow. If not tomorrow then it will be early Thursday. Which is good as chapter 4 goes live on Friday, So that gives players a day to play through the remakes before experiencing the new chapter.
