Mushoku Harem Beta 2 Early Release


This update was a HUGE undertaking with twists and turns around every corner. To paint you a small bit of what went down:
The writer Hagren and I brought on a 3rd member to help with creating 3D Models, They specialized in creating building and interiors.
We were told they wanted to recreate the entire home map from scratch, they started showing me progress of what they were working on, but also had college to contend with, so I was not in a rush for them to complete it.
But I did make a post promising the new Home Remodel would be in the next update. I was so excited!
Over a month went by with no progress seemingly made at all. So I asked, Hey can you get the Bathrooms and MC Bedroom done for me? That way I can begin creating the new animations, and get started on recreating old animations within the new maps. 
I was told sure it will be ready in 2 days. I waited for 4 days. Then went to message again... Only to find out I was blocked for some unexplained reason....
So what do I do at that point?

Well I have always been a man of word, I said this update would have the Home Remodel and I was going to make sure it did. So I took it upon myself to learn how to 3D model environments. (Hence why this update is so late...)
And I made the entire Home Remodel myself. All new custom maps based directly on the Anime.

So what all is new in this update and why is it worth your time?
Well this is a bit of a large list, as while I was waiting around it's not like I was twiddling my thumbs doing nothing for a month.

SO first the part no one cares about until it happens to them:
Bugfixes. You name it I probably fixed it, Honestly too many to list here well over 200 bugfixes were added.
Entire Map Screen overhaul:
This new map screen makes transitioning around the home and city area a lot smoother, I also completely recoded how it worked which helped me to lay the  ground work for the next area, the demon continent. By putting each map into a category, and having the maps show full categories at once. I.E. Home, Sharia, and later Demon Continent so you can use the same map to traverse everything.

New Minigame system
During a discussion with Hagren, we were talking about what to do after we reached that goal of 10 Positions per character?
Bounced some ideas back and forth, when he suggested "Wouldn't it be cool if you could like draw on of those japanese hentai troupe womb tattoos on a girl and it changes the way she interacts with you and the positions you see?"
So I took down notes. Then completely recreated Paint in Renpy, Then recreated Connect the dots, And combined the 2 together to Lay the ground work for the Womb Tattoo system that will be coming in the next update. Currently With his Nanahoshi Update she has 5 extra bonus Positions based around the player playing connect the dots and filling out increasingly difficult Magic Circles.

New Battle Type created
I also wanted to learn more about how this prebuilt RPG Battle system code I had been using this entire time worked. If you remember I have been poking and prodding at it seeing what all I could learn how to do for a few updates now. With the introduction of the Nanahoshi boss fight I added Protection Battles. Where she spawns on the enemy team, and its your job to defeat everyone on the enemy team BUT her. Killing her fails the mission. At the same time the enemies all have an increased chance to attack her. And as she is a non-combatant character you better save her fast. (I plan on going back and using this style for some of the older boss battles to, such as Ariel, Linia and Pursena.)

New Character added - Nanahoshi
As it is Nanahoshi's update I feel like that is pretty self explanatory... She has the standard thing of some Bathroom positions and some bedroom positions, the 10 conversations and the 5 dates as per the usual, to get to know her as a character better. Though one HUGE change that came along with her, was a realization. I was counting Bathroom positions and Bedroom Positions together toward the total 10 Positions I had planned. With this update that all changes and that means....

Position OVERHAUL:
As I wanted to get a bunch of positions done with the new fancy home maps, I felt this was a perfect time. So for a bit of context the game had somewhere just over 1000 animations before this update. This update added more that 700 new animations on top of that.
So who all got new animations?
Aisha - 5 Positions, 2 in the Lovenest, 3 in her bedroom. Positions 1-5
Ariel - 5 Positions, all 5 in the Lovenest. Positions 4-8
Eris - 2 Positions, Both in Love nest. Positions 8 and 9
Lilia - 8 Positions, 5 in Lovenest, 3 in Bathroom. Positions 1-5
Linia - 3 Positions, All in Lovenest, Positions 6-8
Nanahoshi - 15 Positions, 5 in Lovenest, 2 on Dates, 3 in Bathroom, 5 in Minigame. Positions 1-5
Pursena - 4 Positions, All 4 in Lovenest, Positions 4-7
Roxy - 2 Positions, Both in Lovenest. Positions 8 and 9
Sara - 5 Positions, All 5 in Lovenest. Positions 2, and 5-8.
Sylphy - 2 Positions, Both in Lovenest. Positions 8 and 9.

Then as a bonus:
Before if you went to sleep next to Eris/Sylphy/Roxy you would have a special morning foreplay scene.
I expanded upon that. Called it the Morning Scene. Then made one for all 10 girls currently Romanceable in the game.

So This is kind of a 2 in one update for you all. As I did not notice that you never got the Alpha 3.5 Update here on itch.io either So the changes to that.

Completely removed the macro stats, Energy, cleanliness, and Hunger and everything associated with them are gone.
Remodeled the entire Rude Mercenary Company.
Added a Trophy System
Completely Removed the time of day moving forward when doing a battle.
Moved the Quest Board, it is now inside your Book on the top bar at all times.
Added a Hint Scroll to the side of your Top Bar that you can click whenever you want to get hints for what to do next.

To be honest I think that about covers everything. The Alpha 3.5 update was made only a couple of days after the Alpha 3 went live. It was mostly in response to changes or additions and quality of life things people wanted to see. So there is a lot of QoL Improvements added for those of you who haven't played in a while. With the new way the Hud and Imagebutton navigation looks, combined with the GUI updates and map remodels, it really looks like a much better game. I am always balance testing the battle system as I want it to be difficult but fair while also being overall very fun to play and explore the world.
