I just posted a HUGE log at my Patreon, with some images I did not add here. Mainly because the initial post here was essentially posts 1,2 and 3 put together as I have made 3 posts about the game on my patreon over the last few weeks, completely free to view. I am going to just copy and paste my most recent post from there, But if you want to see some more screenshots from the game, be sure to jump over there and give it a look.
So it has been 10 days since my last progress update, I am sure at least a few people are wondering what I have done in that time.
Well I am proud to say A FUCK TON! Like A LOT.
So what is different from the last list. I think I may actually have the main chunk skeleton of the game done.
The Inventory system is complete.
- There is still a bug that when you open the inventory all is good but when you close it, it was just returning the game to the main menu..... not good, so to get around that issue, I added a bypass fix until I can learn to actually fix it. Essentially you have to just do one additional click of the screen and its fine. So almost unnoticeable though a bit annoying and its on the todo list. But not that high on it, as thats more of a polishing thing and not a MUST GET THIS WORKING thing.
The Shops for Ranoa are complete.
There are 4 shops, 1 for buying food, 1 for buying items to use in battle, 1 for buying gifts for the girls to skip the grind because yea that system is done too. And 1 for buying groceries. "Why Groceries?" Well it's because I have the hunger mechanic, and it felt to easy to just run and click on the fridge for +50 fullness each time. So I added a mechanic where if you talk to Lilia at dawn in the kitchen she wlll cook food for you and give you 100% fullness. Or you can talk to Aisha at Dusk in the upstairs kitchen (it's a rather large house) and she will cook for you filling 75% fullness. Then you can cook for yourself and fill 50% fullness. But no one can cook if you don't stock the fridge with the groceries that you buy first.
The battle system is done...ish?
I entirely revamped the battle system like its literally a completely different system. You start out being able to complete only E Rank Missions like in the Light Novels and Anime. Your team is Rudues + your choice of 2 of his wives, Eris, Sylphiette, or Roxy. All 3 have unique skills based on their abilities in the Light Novels. I also wanted to make it feel more like you were working to rank up your squad? guild? team? whatever you want to call it, so I reread some of the light novel chapters where it covers it and wanted to make the battle system ranking tiers work like they do in the anime. 25 E Rank Missions Completed Unlocks D Rank Missions, so on and so forth. I also created the beasts from the show based on the info available from the light novels keeping in mind the regions. As I do intend on adding more regions to fight in, it would be weird to fight desert monsters or demon continent monsters while in the northern region of Ranoa. So only confirmed Ranoa monsters are in the game currently. But that gives me the opportunity to add more when we go to other areas.
Also after a certain amount of battles new hidden bosses show up, if you can defeat them they will start appearing in the city for you to talk to, romance, and eventually recruit to your team. But why is it done...ish Well at the moment it does not have any real animations the battle style is essentially old school red and blue pokemon. I would like to add some animations when using spells but thats also not at the TOP of the list but it is up there.
I added most of the Ranoa City so its not just the house now. You can walk through the city and do a bit of exploring point and click style.
I added the Rude Mercenary Company building where Aisha will be during some parts of the day and for some quests. (havent made quests yet....) But that is also where you get the missions now instead of the demon continent wall Image I showed last time.
I added Rudeus's office with a PC.. Yea I know not super accurate to have a PC but I wanted a way for the players to view their inventory without breaking the game, and a way to view the romanceable ladies status screens, that felt good you know? So I built my own Stable Diffusion AI Art generator that I am hosting on my PC to generate decent images. I did that because I added a feature that the romanceable ladies stat screen images will change based on their current Lust Value. (That took A Lot to learn to photoshop.... and make it look decent) But I am happy with the finished product and thats whats important.
Why did I go through all of that? Well I figured it would be fun to be able to give patrons custom pc background screens. Been debating adding a cheat system to the PC for really skipping the grind. But I am not sure. It feels like it will ruin the fun part of the game. But let me know if enough people want it I will make it. The people that dont want it can also just choose not to use it. So to give a better idea right out the gate what my major goal checklist is for the game. And to give a better idea for where I am when it comes to releasing the first downlaod of the game. This is my actual planning file. I delete things from it as I finish them, and add things as I think of them or they are suggested to me
-Add Different Tiers of Gifts, 100$ for 10 Affection, 500$ for 10 Love, 1000$ for 10 Lust.
-Talking to characters daily increases affection by 5 points.
-Every 20 levels of affection npcs address rudy differently when player initiates conversation.
-After Affection is capped at 100, player can take girls out on dates to raise love by 20 each time. (get some images of rudy sitting down and talking with each girl in turn at a restaruant setting.)
-After Love is maxed out Player can start doing sexual acts with the npcs increasing their lust slowly.
-At different tiers of Lust new sexual positions unlocked.
-Maybe something with sleeping does not fully refill 100 energy when sleeping alone. So if Rudy sleeps with someone then you get a special scene and max energy
to make up for that I will have to make food also fill some energy, Since sleeping with someone wont happen until love stat is maxed.
-Add a "Sleep with ____" feature for a special sleep scene.
-Add a "Bathe with ____" feature for a special bathroom scene when walking in on someone with a high enough lust stat.
-Make lust stat drop everytime player has sex, but raise whenever player does things that may get them off but not the romanceable.
-Have a random chance scene that when player is doing things with other girls a roxy view pops up and player can watch roxy peeking and touching herself.
-Have character specific story events whenever a character maxes out on affection/love/each rank of lust. And hits a tier milestone like 25/50/75/100 love
-Have all other Romanceables locked behind beating them in the battle system. Which will make them appear at a dedicated location in town
so the player can increase affection values by talking to them daily, then start taking them on dates to increase love value. After love value is maxed player
can invite them to move in, which will do 3 things, raise the weekly rent cost making the game more difficult the more Romanceables the player acquires for their harem
making the romanceable appear on the team list for battle system. And being able to have sexy time at the house by working on their lust rating.
-Make an overarching story that involves Rudeus gathering forces to battle the Man-God, Who I want to be the Final Villian of the game.
-Add new cities on different continents, which will have new Romanceables in each city. OK With all of that done I think you deserve some screenshots. TBH I have not done anything NSFW this week at all, when it comes to working on this game. Well unless you count making some AI art for the tier 3,4, and 5 Lust PC Screens?
